Rumors and gossip are evil...
The Lord leads me to scriptures in Proverbs 18 this morning and I feel led to post them. Do with them as you will. They are His Words, full of Truth, power, conviction and Love for those who will heed them. God bless you.
Proverbs 18:13 He that answers a matter before he hears it, it is a folly and shame to him. Proverbs 18:8 The words of a gossip or slanderer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
But I love how God our Father says He will protect those that are His from the strife of tongues. Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, says the Lord.".. Hebrews 4:13 says "Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight; but all things are bare (naked) and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do." God sees and knows everything. Isn't that awesome news for those who Love Him? He will fight our battles when the strife of tongues comes against us. So the take away here is - Before we speak, especially about a person in God's family, a son or daughter of the living, Almighty God, we should know He knows everything, every word, every thought, every intent of the heart. We should, therefore, choose our words wisely. For we will give an account for every careless, or hurtful word we say (Matthew 12:36). ...Rumors and gossip are evil. "And whoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Matthew 23:12
