My Dove

This is the first prayer I wrote when I returned from Israel. I have been sending these out for years as I minister in the Prayer Ministry. I wanted to share it. I hope it blesses you. The picture of a dove cot in Israel (on top of the Masada fortress) where they would send doves out with messages (did not have Fed-Ex back then:) was an inspiration to me. My Dove Psalm 55: 6-7 O that I had wings of a dove, then I would fly away, and be at rest. Lo, then I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah. Psalm 68:3 Though you have been among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver and her feathers with yellow gold. Song of Solomon 2: 10-14a My beloved spoke and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone (it rarely rains in the summer months of Israel, if at all). The flowers appear on the earth. The season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away with Me. O my dove… Dear Father, how often we are weary in this world and want to fly away like a dove, somewhere far away and be at rest. If we could, in our own power, most of us would wander off in search of rest but find ourselves instead in the wilderness, lost and alone. But You Lord Jesus, the lover of our souls, of Your Bride, You call us to rise up and You give us wings like a dove covered with silver (Your Word) and our feathers with yellow gold (Your Holy Spirit). Come away with Me, we hear You call, as we call out to You, and I will show you great and mighty, unsearchable things that you do not know. I will uncover for you treasures in the darkness and hidden riches of secret places, so that we may know that You Lord God Almighty, that calls each of us by name, You are the God of Israel (Isaiah 45:3). You speak to us, individually by name, if we will listen, to the very depths of our hearts, “Rise up, My love, My fair one, and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the blossoming vines with the tender grape put forth their good fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away with Me. O my dove…” The doves coming home to You Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Your Spirit calls our spirits Home, to the New Jerusalem. Help us Lord, Your Bride, to hear the call when You say, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here I am, send me.” Isaiah 6:8. O Lord, send me like a dove to wherever You would call me. I love You Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit. Please soften our hearts to know how deep, how wide, and how unsearchable is You great Love for us, the Bride of Christ. In Jesus Beautiful and Powerful Name, Amen.
