The Bible prophesies that in the latter days, an enemy will come from the North that will attack God's Holy Land (Ezekiel 38:15-23, Joel 2:20 and others). God tells us these things so we will be prepared, for the Day of the Lord is near. Once He has purged all that is evil from His House, the God of Israel will return to fight for His people - Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua HaMashiacH (Jesus, the Messiah).
Right now, prophetically speaking, we are in the Valley of Jeshoshaphat, the Valley of Judgement, the Valley of Decision (Joel Ch. 3). All is relatively quiet, slowed down, as The Lord God Almighty says "Teshuvah." "Return to Me." He is calling to His people in Israel and to all the nations of the earth. TESHUVAH while you can, for the Day of the Lord is near!
In the Book of Joel 2:12-14 the Lord calls out, Yet even now, it is a declaration of the Lord Adonai, "TURN to Me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping and lamenting. Rend your heart, not your garments and TURN to the Lord, your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger abundant in mercy, and relenting of the calamity due. Who knows? He may turn and relent, and may leave a blessing behind Him, so there may be a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord, your God."
In Hosea Ch. 6:1-3, a Prayer of TESHUVAH is lifted up. "Come, let us RETURN to the Lord. For He has torn, but He will heal us. He has smitten, but He will bind us up. After two days, He will revive us. On the THIRD DAY, He will raise us up, and we will live in His presence. So let us know, let us STRIVE TO KNOW the Lord Adonai. Like dawn, His going forth is certain He will come to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth."
Beautiful prayers for those who will heed the Prophetic Word. It is time for repentance in the House of God. It is the time of the prophesies found in the Book of Joel and so many others!
Verses from Ch. 3 of Joel "For behold in those days and at that time, when I restore Judah and Jerusalem from exile, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. I will plead with them there on behalf of My people, even My inheritance, Israel, whom they scattered among the nations...and go up to the valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near, in the valley of decision....The Lord will roar from Zion and give His voice from Jerusalem. Heaven and earth will shudder. For Adonai will be a refuge for His people, and a safe place for the children of Israel. So you will KNOW that I am Adonai, your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. Then will Jerusalem be holy and foreigners will cross through her no more."
"Be still all the earth and KNOW that I am God!" Psalm 46:10 He is the God of Israel! He is the King of the Jews! He is our Jewish Messiah! And He calls us to return to Him fully!
At Easter and Passover, we look back and are so thankful for what Jesus did on the cross for all of us; He took our punishment of death and gave us in exchange, eternal Life. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, but HE is also THE LION OF JUDAH who is coming again. We must be looking forward to Him and not just looking back! We must be ready for His Return! TESHUVAH!
